This is an Eric Carle pattern from the book Ten Little Rubber Ducks. I had to buy the fabric separately and neglected to order enough of the border fabric. So, I have lots of multi-colored checks in the border. My son Scott and his wife lived on a boat for about 10 years, so rubber ducks is their theme. I had to make this quilt. It went to Alaska for Christmas 2012 along with a copy of Eric Carle's book, a rubber duck, and a set of three rubber duck drawer pulls.
I free-motion quilted using my domestic Bernina sewing machine. The batting is wool and the backing is flannel.
